The Clorox Co. announced that
Tom Johnson, Clorox’s vice president, global business services, has been elected president of the board of directors of Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, a nonprofit committed to ending employment discrimination for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees (LGBT).
Recently named one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality" by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Clorox has earned a 100 percent rating for six consecutive years on the HRC's 2012 Corporate Equality Index, a nationally recognized measure of LGBT equality in the workplace.
Last year, the Clorox Pride employee resource group (ERG) received the 2010 ERG of the Year award from Out & Equal. In addition to the Pride group, Clorox's other ERGs — African-American, Asian/Pacific, Hispanic and women — are a key part of Clorox's diversity and inclusion strategy.
These groups enable people to connect with one another and collectively with Clorox.
